What it does

  • Translates technical NOTAM codes (CLSD, U/S, LTD, AD WIP) into plain language.

Best for

  • Quick "is the airport open right now?" checks.
  • Identifying current restrictions before contacting an airport.
  • Understanding what a specific NOTAM means in operational terms.

Not for

  • Weather conditions — those are in METAR/TAF, not NOTAMs.
  • Permanent airport data (runway length, frequencies) — use AIP AI.
  • Replacing the official NOTAM briefing for dispatch.

Data sources

  • Official NOTAM system, pulled multiple times per day.
  • Status inferred by Wright's engine; always hedged ('may be closed') and never definitive.
